My Investment Philosophy: I avoid chasing market trends. Instead, I focus on building a portfolio that reflects my desired qualities in holdings. Expect insights into businesses that represent a "great business at a good price," regardless of conventional growth or value labels.
Geographic Focus: The research will primarily cover companies in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, with a distribution of roughly three-quarters from the U.S. and a quarter from Europe.
Long-Term Investing: These reports are designed for long-term investors, with a recommended holding period of 3-5 years or more.
Publication Frequency: Expect 1-2 detailed reports monthly, aimed at facilitating ongoing investment rather than timing the market—a strategy often fraught with unpredictability.
Company Sizes and Sectors: We will explore companies of all sizes—small-caps to large-caps—and focus on sectors that do not heavily depend on commodity prices or are as volatile as the airline industry.
Analysis Framework: Each report will evaluate both the qualitative aspects (management integrity, business model, competitive moat) and quantitative metrics (profitability, cash flow, valuation).
Pricing: Access to each report will cost $19.
Selection Criteria: The order of analysis will be based on the best perceived risk/reward ratio at the time of publication.
Price fluctuations of up to +/- 20% within a year are typical for any stock. It's important not to get overly excited or discouraged by short-term movements in either direction.
I focus on uncovering hidden gems rather than chasing the heavily favored stocks of the financial industry. There are countless exceptional companies around the world that often go unnoticed. Why not explore the potential in these lesser-known stocks? Nevertheless, I remain vigilant. If the market overreacts to a "lower guidance" announcement, for example, I will promptly bring this to your attention, offering a nuanced perspective on the situation.
And perhaps the most crucial point: I steer clear of "high conviction ideas." Overconfidence in the market is a common pitfall, even for seasoned investors. No matter how undervalued a stock may seem or how promising its growth outlook is, the one constant in investing is uncertainty. Regulatory shifts, geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, market volatilities, and corporate scandals can all swiftly change the landscape. I approach each company pragmatically, not sentimentally—they are assets in a portfolio, not favorites to be adored. This mindset informs my strategy of maintaining modest position sizes, thus mitigating risk and optimizing flexibility.
